It's hard not to worry sometimes; when the bills are high, and money's low... when someone we love is sick... when we lose something that we never thought we would... but even in times like these, things work themselves out some how. One of my favorite lessons on this is from the bible:
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:25-34It is so true, everything else around us is taken care of, so of course we will be too!! There is nothing worrying can do, and as Leo Buscaglia says: "Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy." If these words aren't doing it for you, don't worry... that's what the silver lining is for!! The advice of the 2 furry creatures below really hit it home, and are sure to remind you of their catchy mantra, which always makes me forget about my worries... well at least while I'm singing along!! :-)
Today's Silver Lining:
"Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase. Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze. It means no worries for the rest of your days. It's our problem-free philosophy, Hakuna Matata!"
"Don't worry a-bout a thing, 'cause ev-ry little thing gonna be all right. Singing': "Don't worry about a thing, 'cause ev-ry little thing gonna be all right!" Rise up this mornin'; smiled with the risin' sun. Three little birds pitch by my doorstep, Singin' sweet songs of melodies pure and true; saying, "This is my message to you-ou-ou.” Three Little Birds- by Bob Marley
